Our Carers

Milford Del Support Agency Ltd employs a team of diverse, highly motivated carers.

All our care staff complete the following training as part of their induction:

  • Principles of Care
  • The Role of a Carer
  • Communicating with Service Users
  • Infection Control
  • Basic First Aid Awareness
  • Health and Safety
  • Fire Safety
  • Food Hygiene
  • Protection of Vulnerable Adults
  • Moving and Handling
  • Medication
  • Equality and Diversity Training

Upon completion of the Common Induction Standards, which incorporates the aforementioned training, care staff are encouraged to enrol for the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.  Many staff then go on to complete the Level 3 Diploma.

Additional, specialist training may also be undertaken in a range of topics relevant to the carer’s needs e.g. in Child Protection, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, catheter care or autism.

As an Equal Opportunities employer Milford Del Support Agency Ltd employs both male and female carers.  During the initial assessment Service Users will be asked if they would prefer their care to be provided by a carer of the same sex or a carer of the opposite sex.  These preferences will be respected; however Service Users should be aware that Milford Del Support Agency Ltd does not permit its male carers to provide personal care to female Service Users.
