Job Purpose
  • To provide domiciliary care and support as detailed in service users care plans and risk assessments to maximise independent living
  • To  enable service users to exercise as much choice and control in their lives as possible
  • To work in a way that is caring and safe
Main Duties
  1. To provide personal care where detailed in a person’s care plan in such a way that meets their expressed needs
  2. To provide support to people with their everyday needs such as cleaning, food shopping and food preparation, laundry etc.
  3. To support people with handling and spending their money as detailed in their care plan
  4. To support people to maintain relationships and contact with partners, family and friends
  5. To support people with the care of any pets
  6. To support people to take any prescribed medication
  7. To support people to maintain good health, make health appointments and attend appointments with people as required
  8. To make comprehensive written records of the support and care given to the person on each occasion
  1. To follow Milford Del’s philosophy, policies and procedures.
  2. Record and report to a line manager any accidents, incidents or safeguarding concerns
  3. To participate in regular supervision sessions with your Line Manager.
  4. To maintain confidentiality at all times.
  5. Attend appropriate training courses as and when required.
  6. To fulfil record keeping and administrative tasks.
  7. To work in a respectful manner with Service Users ensuring at all times that their dignity and privacy is maintained
  8. To be flexible with working hours and patterns which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  9. To attend and participate in Service Users reviews and staff meetings.
  10. Obtain the signature of the Service Users for work completed, and return to the office as requested
  11. Complete time sheets showing hours worked, mileage etc.



Evidence of a good general level of education in English and maths

NVQ 2/NVQ level 3 (or working towards)

Education to level 2 standard

To be able to identify health and safety and safeguarding issues and take appropriate action

 EXPERIENCE Transferable life skills ,hobbies and interests

Experience in a care setting

Experience of working with people with Learning disabilities, Autism, Mental health, challenging behaviour, acquired brain injury or spinal injuries

Experience at a senior level

Experience of supervising other staff

Car driver with own vehicle
